Here in the enchanted garden, the star of our story, the firebird (a symbol of rebirth, beauty, and magic), is grazing and drinking in a mystic pool.
As a parallel to the luscious organic forms of the enchanted garden, I imagined Kashchey’s castle as icy and made up of strictly geometric forms. Since Kanshchey is also a wizard, I wanted his home to be an extension of his magical abilities. A multitude of stairs climb in, around, and out of the cliff and castle where he resides. These stairs change in direction and scale as they reach the castle, untimely becoming an optical illusion and leading the traveler nowhere.
